SG, Indonesia extend cooperation on maritime training by 3 years

The two countries have been partners for 17 years.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Indonesia’s Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) extending the cooperation of the two counties on maritime training for another three years.

Arif Toha, acting director-general of Sea Transportation of DGST, said the MoU “facilitates more frequent exchanges and greater cross-learning between the maritime agencies of Indonesia and Singapore.”

Singapore and Indonesia have been collaborating on the human resources development of the government officers in the maritime for 17 years.

Over the past years, the two countries have organised close to 100 programmes and workshops that include training on the implementation of conventions under the International Maritime Organization.
