Drinks on us: Services sector sees sales jump 8.2 per cent over the year

On a year-on-year basis, all service industries experienced positive growths, except for education which reported an 11.5 per cent decline in turnover.

A few services industries experienced double-digit growth in the first quarter this year. They include those in recreation and personal services (36.9 per cent), health and social services (15.2 per cent), and financial and insurance services (12.6 per cent).

The rest of the services industries, except for education, also experienced turnover growths of between 4.9 and 7.0 per cent.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous quarter, overall business receipts remained at similar level.
Business receipts refer to the income earned from business operations.
