Drew & Napier litigation practice ranked Band 1 for 7th straight year

Chambers Asia-Pacific piles on other distinctions.

In a release, Drew & Napier said it has once again been rated as being best in class in Litigation, Intellectual Property, Restructuring & Insolvency, Projects & Energy and Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT) by prestigious legal publication Chambers Asia-Pacific.

"This is 7th consecutive year that Drew’s litigation practice has been ranked Band 1. The award-winning practice is spearheaded by CEO Davinder Singh SC who, for the 3rd year running, is the only litigator in the country to be ranked a “Star Individual”, a category above Band 1," said Drew & Napier.

Jimmy Yim SC, Cavinder Bull SC and Hri Kumar SC have also been recognised as top litigators, bringing the count to 4, the most lawyers ranked from any firm. The arbitration practice is recognised for the 4th consecutive year with Mr Singh, Mr Yim and Mr Bull recommended as leading lawyers.

Drew’s TMT practice is ranked for the 6th consecutive year in Band 1. The team is headed by Band 1-ranked Lim Chong Kin, who Drew & Napier said is praised by clients for his outstanding insight and succinct legal analysis, while one peer commented: “You cannot ask for a better collaborator than him."

Drew’s Intellectual Property and Restructuring/Insolvency practices have also been ranked Band 1 for the 6th consecutive year. Top lawyers include Dedar Singh Gill, Morris John, and Tony Yeo from IP and Sushil Nair, Julian Kwek and Blossom Hing from Restructuring/Insolvency.

The firm’s Tax practice is highly regarded for the 4th consecutive year with Band 1-ranked practice head, Ong Sim Ho at the helm. He is joined this year by Ong Ken Loon who is identified as an up-and-coming lawyer.

The firm’s Corporate and Finance lawyers also featured prominently in the rankings. Corporate/M&A head Gary Pryke, Capital Markets head Sin Boon Ann and Benedict Teo, Banking & Finance head Valerie Kwok, Sandy Foo and Wang Shue Wen and Investment Funds head Petrus Huang are well-positioned and garnered praise from their clients.

Debuting in rankings this year are Ralph Lim in Corporate/M&A and Tan Liam Beng in the Project & Energy rankings.
