
Singapore’s mobile telcos averaged 6% price gain YTD
The 3 largest stocks generated a three-year price gain of 35.5%.
In Singapore, there are ten stocks categorised to the Telecommunication Services and of which, the largest capitalised stocks are the three mobile operators – Singtel, Starhub, and M1.
According to SGX, these three household names have a combined market capitalisation of S$76 billion and they averaged 5.8% gain in the year-to-date.
The FTSE ST Telecommunications Index, which comprises of SingTel, StarHub and M1, generated a three-year price gain of 35.5% and three-year total return of 55.2% as of Friday.
All three mobile telcos stocks distributed dividends, and currently average an indicative dividend yield of 4.6%. Both Singtel and M1 distribute dividends on a six-monthly basis, whereas Starhub distributes dividends every three months.
