Alibaba's Cainiao Network launches Singapore-China air freight route
This was made to support an increased cross-border shipment.
Alibaba Group’s logistics arm Cainiao Smart Logistics Network has launched its first Singapore-China air freight route, which will operate four weekly chartered flights between Singapore and Hangzhou, China, according to a press release.
The direct Singapore-China route was made to support the increased cross-border shipment due to the rise in eCommerce activities, as well as during massive shopping festivals such as the upcoming Double 11.
The company also said that this could open the development of value-added services such as the provision of delivery time slots for greater predictability, goods assembly and returns, as well as the delivery of specialized goods such as medical supplies. It can also open doors for eCommerce merchants in the region to reach a wider market.
