M1 on Wednesday, Starhub Yesterday
After a mobile service outage afftected some M1 users on Wedneday, May 18, some customers of Starhub also found themselves early yesterday unable to connect to the Internet.
A number of these frustrated Starhub users also have found the micro-blogging platform Twitter to vent and express their disappointments.
Responding to Singapore Business Review, Starhub Corporate Communications Manager Cassie Fong explained that the network interruption was due to an electric power cut.
“We were aware that at 11.30am (yesterday), some customers in the vicinity of Blk 170 Stirling Road experienced local degradation of mobile services. This was due to an electrical power maintenance by the town council, which affected the power supply to our network equipment in that area,” she said.
Ms Fong noted that only a handful of customers have reported the issue to them and service was fully restored in less than two hours. “StarHub apologises for any inconvenience caused,”she said.
