Take a look at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s new office and innovation facility

The company invested U$1m.

One year after Alcatel-Lucent Enterprises (ALE) diversified from its parent company, it opened its new office and innovation facility in Singapore in October. The company’s APAC hub and new office occupies 10,000 sqft at Chee Technopark.

Being one of the leaders in unified communications, ALE helps its customers to stay connected no matter where they are. ALE make sure that they apply this same principle to the company, and use its unified communications solutions to keep the entire team informed across the region. As part of ALE’s commitment to innovation, the company welcomes U$1m investment facility serving as a prime test bed for the latest enterprise technology solutions. According to Matthieu Destot, vice president of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise APAC, the opening of the innovation facility served as a nod to the company’s commitment to innovation. It also affirms their aim to deliver a personalized connected experience to empower businesses in the region.

“Whether it is about innovation to drive business growth, or enabling open collaboration for shared success, we are committed to help businesses in the region achieve their growth targets,” said Matthieu.

According to Matthieu, balancing the office as an APAC hub and retaining a local point of view is the biggest obstacle they faced to make the project possible.

The team behind this project was divided up by key functions based on expertise. Finance & Contracts was worked as one team; networks & communications was managed by another team; branding and color scheme was handled by marketing; seating plan, employee handbook was handled by HR. Matthieu explained that since the team in charge of this was also in the process of opening up offices across the region such as in Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan, lack of time was a factor.

“The team burned the mid-night oil to assure we overcame the obstacles to open this facility. They also kept a careful focus on catering to our local market which also fulfils our regional ambition,” added Matthieu.

The team made sure that their demo facility caters to both their regional as well as local demand, with solutions catering to the needs of specific market segments including government, education and healthcare. Matthieu notes that they also looked at subtle things to personalize their space, like naming the meeting rooms after the different markets where they established offices in the region.
