Nera Telecommunications partners with Juniper Networks to deliver software defined networks
Partnership targets Southeast Asia region.
Nera Telecommunications Ltd ("Nera”), a premier solutions provider of Info-communications, Wireless Infrastructure Networks and Satellite Communications, announced it has partnered with Juniper Networks to deliver SDN to its customers in Southeast Asia.
According to Nera, SDN promises a way for the networking industry to deliver an unparalleled ability to adapt to changing business needs and two critical benefits to its customers.
"First, is the ability for vendors to deliver innovation at a faster rate and the ability for customers to absorb it at a faster rate. The second is a reduction in the operational cost of running a network, achieved primarily through automation," said the company.
Juniper pioneered the first step in the separation of control and forwarding functions in networking equipment. In January 2013, Juniper introduced its SDN vision, strategy and licensing model as the next logical step in the evolution of networking technology.
Juniper Networks recently introduced its JunosV Contrail family of products, which will deliver a virtual network solution that easily integrates into existing data centres to centralize control across different client IT architectures and multiple cloud platforms. The solution virtualizes the network to enable seamless automation and orchestration among private and public cloud environments, elastic management of IP-based network and security devices.
“JunosV Contrail family of products delivers a network infrastructure that meets customers’ immediate and long term needs. Customers can now have technology that seamlessly integrates into their current IT architectures, providing the agility and scalability,” said Samuel Ang, President and CEO of Nera. “We are excited to be working with Juniper Networks to deliver a simpler, lower risk and cost-effective SDN to the customers”.
“As Juniper advances its SDN strategy, we recognize that our partners play a significant role in introducing Juniper solutions to global enterprises and service providers as they consider optimizing their networks and transitioning to SDN,” said Emilio Umeoka, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partners, Juniper Networks. “Nera has demonstrated a deep understanding for their customers’ network infrastructure and we look forward to partnering with them to help evolve these networks to support tomorrow’s capabilities.”
In collaboration with Juniper Networks, Nera will deliver the benefits of JunosV Contrail family of products to its customers in Southeast Asia.
