Ntegrator scores $11.7m in Myanmar media equipment contracts

Orders came from state-owned network MRTV and telco Viettel.

Catalist-listed Ntegrator International Ltd (Ntegrator), a regional communications network specialist and systems integrator, announced that it has secured new contracts worth approximately S$11.7 million from Myanmar Radio and Television (“MRTV”) and the Viettel Group of Companies.

The order for communications equipment from MRTV, Myanmar’s state-owned broadcast radio and television network, includes a three camera Digital News Gathering Satellite van, 2 sets of 1.2m antenna broadcast microwave link system, a 100kw medium wave radio transmitter as well as fiber headend equipment, for use in major cities such as Naypyitaw, Yangon and Mandalay.

Mr. Jimmy Chang, Managing Director of Ntegrator, commented, “Following the introduction of reforms in Myanmar to liberalise trade and foreign direct investment regulations and enhance the business investment framework, we secured another significant contract from MRTV. This is yet another affirmation of Ntegrator’s quality of project and service delivery as well as our strong relationships with customers in Myanmar.”

A repeat customer of the Group since 2002, Viettel is the largest mobile network operator in Vietnam, with global operations in six countries, including Laos, Cambodia, Haiti, Mozambique and Peru. These latest orders from Viettel are for the supply of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) equipment to Viettel’s optical and broadband network in Vietnam, and for the supply of SDH equipment to its network in Peru.

DWDM systems are typically used for expanding the fiber optic cable network capacity without having to layer additional fiber optic cables, while SDH equipment is primarily used for high speed data transfer of telecommunication and digital signals.

“We are delighted to have secured more orders from Viettel. The latest contract wins further reaffirm our major repeat customer’s confidence in Ntegrator. It is also especially encouraging for us to continue to work with Viettel on the development of its network in Peru,” Mr. Chang added.

Work on the new contracts are scheduled to be completed in 2013, and are expected to contribute positively to the Group’s financial performance in the financial year ending December 31, 2013.
