Singtel tops Singapore governance and transparency ranking
2017 marks the third year the company has topped the list.
Singtel ranks first for the third consecutive year in the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (GSTI) 2017.
The SGTI assesses SGX-listed companies based on board responsibilities, right of shareholders, accountability and audit, disclosure and conduct, and engagement of shareholders.
The SGTI this year ranked over 600 companies based on research made by CPA Australia, NUS Business School's Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations, and the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Singtel Group chief executive officer Chua Sock Koong said, "We believe that strong corporate governance is the foundation for sustainable growth and long-term value creation, and constantly seek to ensure that it reflects the rapidly changing business environment that we operate in. This award is a great recognition for our more than 25,000 employees who bring our core values to life in their interactions with our stakeholders every day.”
