Apple hikes app prices in Singapore as forex fluctuations bite

Apps will now cost a minimum of $1.48.

Tech giant Apple will increase prices of paid apps in seven countries, including Singapore.

In a letter to developers released by tech news site The Next Web, Apple said that the increase is on back changing foreign exchange rates. 

Under the new price list, the cheapest apps in Singapore will cost $1.48, compared to $1.28 previously.

Apple said that the new prices will take effect within the next 72 hours. Other affected territories include Canada, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia and South Africa.

Apple noted that subscriptions will not interrupted in Singapore, and that users will be informed of the new prices prior to renewing their existing subscription.
