Here's proof that Singapore telco's broadband price war won't be over yet

StarHub's broadband revenue dipped 4.9%.

According to Phillip Securities Research, the intense broadband competition among Singapore telco companies is likely to remain.

StarHub, which released its earnings results last week, reported a decline in broadband revenue despite increase in subscriber base. Said revenue declined 4.9% y-y. This is due to lower ARPU at S$44/mth (3Q12: S$46) as price competition remains intense. Average monthly churn rate was lower at 1.3%, likely attributed by attractive bundle offers.

Chart 1 shows StarHub's higher customer base (‘000) with lower churn.
