M1 unveils unlimited data for video, music streaming apps

It will be $4.9/month for the first six months.

As 90% of consumers aged 15 to 34 use online streaming services, Singapore telco giant M1 launched Entertainment Data as its new offering for its data-hungry subscribers.

The new offer will be able to give postpaid subscribers unlimited local access to popular video and music streaming services including Netflix, Dailymotion, and Deezer.

According to M1, the promotional monthly subscription for Entertainment Media will be at $4.90 for the first six months. Postpaid subscribers will then be charged $9.90 after the promotional period. Also, the registration charge of $10.70 will be waived for the customer's first registration.

M1 Chief Marketing Officer P. Subramaniam said this is M1's answer to growing online media consumption, as younger users spending more time consuming online media than they do traditional TV.

“Over-the-top content services have exploded in popularity, giving consumers access to an incredible library of content. M1 Entertainment Data gives customers the peace of mind to enjoy all their favourite videos and music on our advanced 4G+ network anytime, anywhere, without having to worry about excess charges,” he said.
