Singapore’s telco triumvirate scrambles to cash in on smart nation projects
Enterprise services are also all the rage.
The city-state’s telco big three have been racing to grab opportunities in Singapore’s up-and-coming enterprise segment, and are releasing flashy new initiatives in the process.
According to analysts from RHB Research, the enterprise segment is set to be a key growth driver for both StarHub and M1, effectively joining Singtel in the enterprise space.
“M1 recently launched an advanced machine-to-machine (M2M) platform and is set to introduce Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for the security, healthcare and transport industries,” RHB Research said.
Additionally, M1 has also bagged contracts on Smart Nation initiatives and government related projects.
“The enterprise business contributes 25% to Singtel’s domestic revenue vs the 16% and 7% for StarHub and M1 respectively,” RHB Research added.
