Singtel partners with Geneco to offer electricity plans
The plans will offer monthly power bill savings of up to 30%.
Telecommunications operator Singtel has entered the electricity-reselling business under its partnership with YTL PowerSeraya’s energy provider unit Geneco to offer electricity plans which will be resold through Singtel Power, an announcement revealed.
The firms aim to combine Singtel’s customer reach with YTL PowerSeraya’s role as the second largest power generation company in Singapore to offer consumers access to energy plans with the option of value-added services.

The range of electricity plans to be resold will offer households monthly power bill savings of up to 30% on current regulated tariffs, the firms said in a joint statement.
Residential customers can choose from three Geneco plans which are ‘Get it Fixed 24’, ‘Get it Fixed 36’ and ‘Get it Less 24’. Customers who switch from their existing providers will reportedly undergo a seamless transition with no disruption to their electricity supply.
“In addition to savings on their power bills, customers can enjoy an attractive discount on their fibre broadband subscription and mobile handset purchase,” Singtel’s CEO for consumer Singapore Yuen Kuan Moon said in a statement.
