SingTel's mobile subscribers jumped by 51,000

While M1 lost 64,000.

According to Nomura, SingTel added 51k mobile subscribers – 22k prepaid and 29k postpaid additions. This compares to 17k subscriber additions by StarHub and 64k loss at M1. 

Prepaid ARPUs were flat y-y and subscriber acquisition costs were down 1% y-y to SGD288.

In pay-TV, ARPU was up 7% to SGD30. SingTel added 25k fiber subscribers to a total of 192k subs, with 59% market share. 

In broadband SingTel added 4k subscribers compared to flat subscriber base at StarHub. Mobile and Data and Internet revenue rose 4% y-y. NLD and ILD were down 4-7%.

Mio TV revenues were up 24% from last year while IT and Engineering was down 8%. 

Digital business continues to be a drag on earnings – it added SGD24mn to revenues, but EBITDA loss was SGD40mn.
