Singtel's Optus, TPG Telecom secure approval for network-sharing deal

The agreement has an initial term of 11 years.

Optus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singtel, received approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for its proposed regional network and spectrum-sharing agreements with TPG Telecom.

Under the Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) agreement, Optus will grant TPG Telecom access to its regional radio access network, with both companies sharing spectrum in regional Australia.

The non-exclusive agreement has an initial term of 11 years.

TPG Telecom has the option to extend the agreement for another five years.

Provided that the remaining regulatory approvals are obtained, TPG and Optus customers can expect access to the MOCN by early 2025.
