
StarHub wins internet speed race: report
Its internet service is 35-60% faster than its peers, according to IMDA.
In the recent Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) IMconnected report, StarHub clocked the fastest mobile data speeds, besting other telecommunication companies in Singapore, with a recorded a 35% to 60% faster internet service, announced in a press release.
The data points in the report were collated over the period of January to June 2019. StarHub achieved peak speeds of 681.7Mbps and 32.6Mbps for 4G and 3G respectively, whilst for the telco’s median speeds, the company topped the charts with 4G’s 27.6Mbps for 4G and 11.2Mbp for 3G.
Starhub is driving 5G trials and proof-of-concepts covering augmented reality, smart estates and Industry 4.0 advanced manufacturing with technology, business, academia and public agency partners.
The company stated that it will soon unveil more details about such joint developments in its bid to submit a robust proposal to IMDA for a nationwide 5G network.
