Temasek looks to buy $1.77b data centre

Nextdc's data centres are in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.

According to Deal Street Asia, citing a report by The Australian, Singapore’s state investor Temasek Holdings is reportedly looking to acquire ASX-listed Nextdc Ltd, a data centre services firm.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Brisbane, Nextdc provides data centre outsourcing solutions, connectivity services and infrastructure management software. It maintains a series of data centres in key Australian cities that include Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

As at 12 February 2018, the firm has a market capitalisation of $1.77b (A$1.71b). In the financial year 2017, Nextdc reported a profit estimated at $23.85m (A$23m), a substantial increase over the $1.87m (A$1.8m) profit it posted for 2016.
