
Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation appoints Karmjit Singh Director
Eyed to bring in experience as chairman of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd (Keppel T&T) has appointed Mr Karmjit Singh as an Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board with effect from 1 October 2010.
Mr Singh, 63, has had an extensive career in the air transportation and logistics industry. From 1998 to 2004, he was the Chief Executive of SATS Airport Services Pte Ltd. He became the Chief Operating Officer of SATS Ltd (SATS) in 2004 where he held the post till his retirement in 2009. He continues to be a consultant to the President and Chief Executive Officer of SATS, according to a Keppel report.
He was also the Chairman of Asia Airfreight Terminal Co., Ltd. and a Director of various SATS subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Mr Teo Soon Hoe, Chairman of Keppel T&T, said, "Karmjit will bring to Keppel a wealth of experience in transportation and logistics, which will help greatly in contributing to the growth of Keppel T&T."
Mr Singh is the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Singapore, and is also a member on the Board of The Logistics Institute--Asia Pacific of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Mr Singh has also served on the Working Group for Logistics as part of the Government's Economic Review
Committee.
Mr Singh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography (Honours-Gold Medallist) from NUS.
