Singtel appoints former manpower minister as non-executive director
Former Minister of Manpower Lim Swee Say was given a non-executive role in the telco company.
Lim Swee Say, who was minister of Manpower from 2015 to 2018, joined Singtel as a non-executive director.
This is according to an announcement posted by the telco firm at the Singapore Exchange.
Lim was also a member of the parliament from 1997 to 2020.
He is currently a trustee of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), chairman of the nTUC Administration & Research Unit Board of Trustees, deputy chairman of the Singapore Labour Foundation, governor of the Ong Teng Cheong Institute, and adjunct professor for the Nanyang Technological University’s Centre of Public Administration.
Lim will be attending training on the roles and responsibilities of a director of a listed issuer as prescribed by the Singapore Exchange.
