ComfortdelGro rolls out on-demand seat booking for their buses
It will allow multiple passenger bookings and store regular pick-up and drop-off points.
ComfortDelGro (CDG) launched CDGBus OnDemand app to guarantee commuters’ seats on their buses, an announcement revealed.
Through the app, commuters can make multiple bookings up to 24 hours in advance. In addition, they can also book for multiple passengers, and store regular pick-up and drop-off points as “Favourites” for quicker bookings.
The platform will accept both debit and credit card payments and bookings will be confirmed once the payments are made. The app will also allow commuters to trace the status of the bus prior to its arrival.
CDG Bus’ more popular Tanjong Rhu to Shenton Way premium service will initially be available for app booking.
“With the wide proliferation of smartphones, it only makes sense for us to launch this new booking service for the convenience of our commuters,” ComfortDelGro Bus CEO Pang Weng Heng said. “We plan to roll out more services on the App going forward.”
The buses’ fare per trip will still be at $5. If a bus is oversubscribed, commuters who did not book a ride through the app will have to wait for the next available bus.
In January 2018, its sister company in Australia CDC NSW launched an on-demand service OurBus in the Carlingford, North Rocks and Epping areas to allow commuters to book a bus ride to connect them to major bus and train nodes using a mobile phone app.
