DHL launches Asia Pacific Innovation Center in Singapore
It’s their first innovation center outside of Germany.
DHL launched its Asia Pacific Innovation Center (APIC) in Singapore, according to a press release by the company. It is DHL’s first innovation center outside of Germany, and the first dedicated center for logistics services in the Asia Pacific region.
The facility is located within the $160m DHL Supply Chain Advanced Regional Center building at Tampines LogisPark.
Launched with the support of the Economic Development Board, the APIC boasts technologies dedicated to optimising logistics operations such as driverless shuttles, delivery drones for time-critical, and vehicles that use machine-to-machine sensors to boost vehicle uptime by 30%.
APIC also serves as a regional platform for collaboration between DHL, customers, partners and independent experts. The center is expected to drive the company’s research on emerging trends in Asian logistics and economic activity.
Visitors can enjoy customized visits with services by APIC such as guided tours, workshops, events and forums.
