E-scooter firm Beam to provide insurance for riders
Riders in Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand can access protection against accidents.
Singapore-based e-scooter firm Beam has partnered with global professional services firm Aon plc (Aon) to launch its new multi-market rider protection programme for the micro-mobility sharing services sector in the Asia-Pacific.
Beam will provide personal accident insurance coverage through a programme for all eligible Beam riders in Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand placed by Aon.
Although the insurance will be subject to local regulations and jurisdiction, all eligible Beam riders in Australia placed by Marsh will also be covered.
“Aon is committed to supporting the growth of Asian start-ups as the dynamic tech and ride sharing sector continues to develop in the region,” Stratos Hatzipanis, regional director, Affinity, Aon said.
“At the forefront of Beam’s vision to change the way people move is the fundamental belief that every trip must have a focus on safety,” said Christopher Hilton, vice president, corporate affairs, Beam Mobility. “This is an important step in realising our commitment to safety, and ensuring that our riders have protection and peace of mind when using our services.
