Go-Jek to test driver-partner benefits programme on 1 April
The programme will include fuel rebates, prolonged medical leave insurance, and medical consultation services.
Go-Jek unveiled its dedicated benefits programme GoalBetter for driver-partners in Singapore, which will launch in an initial pilot phase to selected drivers on 1 April, an announcement revealed. The programme will later roll out to all eligible drivers in June.
The programme’s benefits will reportedly include fuel rebates, prolonged medical leave insurance and medical consultation services.
Go-Jek is partnering with Esso and DBS, Singapore’s largest petrol and bank networks, respectively, to provide its drivers with competitive fuel rebates of up to 32.4% in Singapore. All driver-partners can get an upfront discount of 20% when they purchase petrol at any of Esso’s 61 retail service stations around Singapore.
Meanwhile, the ride-hailing firm is also partnering with insurance technology firm Gigacover, which focuses on the protection needs of freelancers, to offer all Go-Jek driver-partners a standard earnings protection coverage of $80 per day. “Driver-partners need only to pay a single, subsidised monthly rate to Gigacover. This rate is dependent on age and ranges from $22.40 to $130.80,” Go-Jek noted.
The scheme will cover driver-partners for medical leave of up to 21 days and hospitalisation leave of up to 84 days. Top active driver-partners in the Gold and Platinum tiers will enjoy free coverage for the whole quarter paid for by Go-Jek,
Additionally, Go-Jek is partnering with on-demand video consultation platform Doctor Anywhere to provide all its active driver-partners with convenient access to online and physical medical consultation services.
Driver-partners will also be entitled to a partner rate for each medical consultation, where they can be diagnosed and treated for common illnesses, prescribed medication, and issued medical certificates and even referrals. Top active driver-partners - those in the Platinum tier* - will receive additional medical benefits fully subsidised by Go-Jek.
To access the various GoalBetter benefits, driver-partners will receive a GoalBetter kit with information about the programme, instructions on getting started, and their fuel card, during the first half of April.
