LTA reveals new peak period bus services

Here’s a relief for weary commuters.

Five new Peak Period Short Services (PPSS) will begin operating this month, in a bid to alleviate crowding, reduce waiting times and improve reliability during peak hours.

The five new PPSS will cover Pasir Ris, Tampines and Choa Chu Kang. All five PPSS will operate at least five trips per hour during morning and evening peak periods, excluding public holidays.

Two new services will ply Pasir Ris starting 10 June. Another two will begin driving in Tampines on 24 June, while the last will navigate Choa Chu Kang starting 30 June.

These five PPSS will overlay existing Feeder Bus Services 291, 293, 307, 358 and 359 to connect residents to nearby bus interchanges and/or MRT stations. These will also charge distance fares, similar to the feeder services that they overlay on.
