Singapore, Malaysia search for partner for high speed rail project
Call for tender is on 22 August 2016.
The governments of Singapore and Malaysia will call for a tender on 22 August 2016 for a joint development partner (JDP) that will assist in rolling out the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project.
Press release from LTA and Malaysia’s MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd said that the JDP is expected to provide project management support, technical advice and procurement advice relating to the high speed railway systems and operations.
“The JDP will also develop the technical and safety standards to be adopted for the project. In addition, it will assist the Joint Project Team established between Singapore and Malaysia with the preparation of documents for the forthcoming tenders relating to the joint aspects of the project, such as the appointment of the AssetsCo and OpCo International,” the press release said.
The HSR aims to promote ease of travel between the two capital cities as well as omptimise business linkages, and bring citizens of both nations closer together, the governments said.
Interested firms must have had experience on advising large public private partnership infrastructure projects including HSR projects of similar size and complexity. Firms specialising on project management, and technical, commercial or legal advisory services relating to HSR and rail projects 200 km of track or greater are also welcome to send their bids.
