URA, LTA launch pilot tender for electric vehicle charging points
They aim to have 200 public carparks to have EV charging points.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and the Land Transportation Authority (LTA) have launched a pilot tender for electric vehicle charging points that covers the installation and operation of more than 600 EV charging points at over 200 public carparks across Singapore.
The URA said the launch of the pilot tender marks a significant milestone in the expansion of Singapore’s public carpark charging network.
The tender is part of a national EV charger deployment plan that is led by the Ministry of Transport and the LTA. Singapore’s vision is to have all its vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040.
Earlier this year, the government announced its aim to deploy up to 28,000 charging points in public carparks by 2030, to make it more convenient for EV users. Today, there are around 1,800 charging points located island-wide.
