7 new stations at Thomson-East Coast Line to start passenger service on 23 June
During its preview on 21 June, rides in the stations will be free.
The fourth stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), which comprises seven new stations, will begin passenger service on 23 June, Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat announced.
The government is now doing “rigorous testing to ensure system resilience and reliability” of the stations before it commences operations.
In his speech at the Parliament, Chee also announced that the government will offer free rides in the seven stations during its preview on 21 June.
“The seven new TEL stations from Tanjong Rhu to Bayshore will improve connectivity and shorten travel times for residents in the east, such as those staying in Marine Parade and East Coast, Chee said.
TEL will also cut travel time from Marine Parade to Shenton Way from 40 minutes to 20 minutes, shared the transport minister.
