Aerodyne Group, DroneDash Technologies partner for cross-border drone delivery
Initial focus will be on delivery routes to Johor Bahru and Iskandar Malaysia.
Drone service provider Aerodyne Group has partnered with air mobility company DroneDash Technologies to introduce cross-border drone delivery services between Malaysia and Singapore.
The collaboration will boost logistics efficiency across the two countries, leveraging specialized technologies to pioneer shore-to-shore drone operations.
The operation relies on an advanced navigation system powered by satellite communications and dual-city 5G roaming to ensure drones safely navigate congested maritime and aerial routes.
The initial focus will be on delivery routes to Johor Bahru and Iskandar Malaysia, with plans for expansion. The initiative is set to commence commercial operations in the third quarter of 2024.
Drones will carry payloads of up to 30 kilograms and achieve speeds of 150 km/h, promising secure and efficient transport for urgent documents, high-value electronics, medical supplies, and perishable foods.
“Organisations in the logistics, cargo delivery and freight services sector stand to gain a double-digit percentage improvement in overall productivity and cost,” said Paul Yam, CEO of DroneDash.
“With the formation of the recent Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, we are proud to play a part in strengthening economic connectivity between the two regions,” added Mudzakkir Hatta, CEO of Aerodyne.
