AirCarbon launches first blockchain-based carbon exchange
It will be fully operational in 2020.
AirCarbon launched the world’s first blockchain-based digital aviation carbon trading exchange. This will allow airlines and other corporate buyers to buy and sell tokens backed by carbon offset credits approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The company said in a statement that it is applying for a recognized market operator licence to the Monetary Authority of Singapore for a recognised market operator licence. AirCarbonIt is aiming for the exchange to be fully operational in 2020.
The exchange will finance the registration costs of some carbon-mitigation projects at no charge to developers.
