
Beat it, road hogs! Singapore wins international award for road safety
LTA received the Edmund Ricker Transportation Safety Council Award for its efforts in improving road safety in Singapore.
The Land Transport Authority was presented with the award under the Organisation category at the annual Institute of Transportation Engineers awards ceremony held in St Louis, Missouri, USA.
Only one award is given out in the individual and organisation categories each year, according to LTA. Past winners include the World Bank and city administrations in America and Australia for their efforts in promoting road safety.
The Institute of Transportation Engineers, founded in 1930 with members from more than 90 countries, is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs.
