Big-car COE premium rebounds sharply in latest bidding exercise

Cat B premium closed at $46,970.

The Certificate of Entilement (COE) premium for cars larger than 1,600cc jumped 22% to $46,970 in the second bidding exercise for February, wiping out its unexpected loss in the first bidding exercise held two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, premiums for Category A cars—those smaller than 1,600cc—dropped to $43,000, compared to $43,651 in the first bidding exercise.

Premiums in the open category, or Cat E, rose to $45,009 from $44,001 two weeks ago.

COE premiums for motorcycles dropped by $150 to $6,353, while premiums for goods vehicles and buses stayed fairly flat at $45,001.
