CCCS files PID against several warehouse operators
The issuance was the result of an investigation that occurred last August 2018.
Four parties found themselves in hot water as The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) issued a Proposed Infringement Decision against them.
The four entities, CNL Logistics Solutions Pte. Ltd., Gilmon Transportation & Warehousing Pte. Ltd., Penanshin Pte. Ltd., and Mac-Nels Terminal Pte. Ltd., were found to have engaged in price fixing of warehousing services at Keppel Distripark.
This was done through the implementation of an FTZ Surcharge.
Prior to this, the CCCS held an investigation in August 2018, following complaints about possible price-fixing at the location. Findings pointed to representatives of the parties communicating with each other to enforce a surcharge or the FTZ Surcharge. This was charged to customers for the provision of warehousing services for import cargo.
According to the department, however, this resulted in the prices going in favour of practical cooperation between those involved, instead of independent pricing.
Those affected by the price-fixing incident include those from 15 June 2017 to 19 November 2019.
Following the issuance of the PID, the concerned parties have six weeks to make representations to CSSS.
