Changi Airport sees 3.4M passengers sent off in February

Changi Airport saw 3.4 million passengers pass through in February. This is a 9.1 per cent increase from the same period last year and is attributed to the long Lunar New Year weekend. This puts the total passenger movement for the first two months of the year at 7.2 million.

The number of flights also rose by 12.2 per cent year-on-year in February to 22,000. Some 28 per cent, or 6,200, of the flights were by low cost carriers.

Cargo handling volume declined 1.9 per cent due to the Lunar New Year Holiday to 128,048 tonnes. In total, Changi Airport handled 275,272 tonnes of cargo in the first two months of the year, up 1.3 per cent compared to 2010.
