COE premiums for small cars surge to $53,000 in latest bidding exercise

Prices rose across the board.

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for small cars rose above $50,000 for the first time in four months during the first bidding exercise for June.

COE premiums for Category A cars rose to $53,694 in the first bidding exercise, up from $47,020 in the preceding exercise. Meanwhile, the premium for Category B cars jumped to $56,000 from $49,156 in the previous bidding exercise.

The premium for the open category, which currently tracks Category B, rose to $55,100 from $49,700.

Meanwhile, the COE premium for motorcycles stayed flat at $6,302, while the COE premium for goods vehicles and buses rose to $46,343 fro $43,002.
