COE quota slips by 0.9% to 21,653

Almost all categories’ monthly quotas shrunk.

After successive months of growth, the Certificate of Entitlement quota eventually dropped by an inch, as the monthly quota for the November-January 2016 period fell to 7,217.

According to data from the Land Transport Authority, all five COE categories slipped except for the Goods Vehicles and Buses.

Category A will have 3,313 COEs per month, down by 1.8% from 3,373. Category B also dropped by 3% from 2,112, and will have 2,049 COEs per month.

Meanwhile, Category D’s (motorcycles) quota fell by 7.9% from 710 to 654 COEs per month. Category E also fell slightly and will have 720 COEs per month.

Only Category C, goods vehicles and buses, grew by 32.1% and will have 481 COEs per month.
