ComfortDelGro Australia to steer buses in Darwin after winning bid

It won the Northern Territory Government tender for a six-year contract.

ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia Limited (CDC) was granted the Northern Territory Government tender for a six year contract to become the sole operator of public bus transport services in Darwin, Palmerston, rural areas, and special needs services in the region.

CDC, through its subsidiary CDC Darwin, received a service contract that covers a significant part of Northern Territory’s public transport network, with 170 vehicles operating across more than 180 routes and serving 5.7 million passengers annually.

It will also provide Australian and global expertise in lower emissions buses with nine new Volvo hybrid buses to be rolled out on urban routes during the contract period.

Its training for drivers and carers for special needs transport for students with disabilities also boosted the company's bid.

CDC, is also a wholly owned subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, an SGX-listed company and a land transport firm.
