ComfortDelGro Bus to operate SG's largest e-bus fleet
The company won a $30m contract to operate at the NUS.
ComfortDelGro Bus will operate Singapore's largest electrified private bus fleet after winning the National University of Singapore's (NUS) tender to provide shuttle bus services at its campus.
The multi-year contract, valued at more than $30m, is for the electrification of the university's entire fleet of shuttle service buses.
CEO Stephen Chow said, "We are excited to have won this tender to operate the largest electrified private bus fleet at the NUS Kent Ridge campus as this is very much in line with both ComfortDelGro Bus' and NUS' sustainability goals. We are not new to providing the NUS shuttle service, as we have been doing so for nearly two decades. To prepare us for the transition towards electrification, we had in July this year trialled an electric bus as part of the NUS shuttle service. That has given us insights as to how we can better manage the electrification of the entire fleet next year."
The successful NUS bid comes about two months after its sister company, ComfortDelGro Engineering, had won a strongly-contested tender to operate 479 of 632 electric vehicle chargers slated for introduction next year.
