ComfortDelGro extends full taxi rental waiver for one month

This is expected to cost the firm an additional $17m.

ComfortDelGro will waive full taxi rental for its drivers for another month, following the government’s move to extend the circuit-breaker period, an announcement revealed.

The further full rental waiver is expected to cost the firm an additional $17m, bringing the total relief package given to taxi drivers to $116m.

ComfortDelGro Taxi has been working with delivery companies and restaurateurs to provide alternative jobs to cabbies. To date, over 680 cabbies have been deployed to take on alternative jobs, with close to 110 of them deployed to provide delivery services for partners such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Cedele and foodpanda.
