ComfortDelGro's full-year net profit climbs 6.5% to $301m
Thanks to higher revenue from core operations.
Transport operator ComfortDelGro reported that its full-year net profit rose 6.5% to $301m in 2015, boosted by higher revenue from its bus, taxi, and rail operations.
This marks that first time that the group's bottomline crossed the $300 million-mark, the company said in a release.
The group's full-year revenue rose by 1.5% to $4.11 billion, but this was partially offset by a $23 million forex loss.
Bus operations revenue rose 3.1% to $2.12 billion last year, while earnings from its taxi business grew 3.4% to $1.33 billion. Rail revenue jumped 8.4% to $213.4m on back of higher ridership for Northeast Line, Downtown Line and the Sengkang and Punggol LRTs.
Operating costs increased by 1.4% to $3.66 billion. ComfortdelGro has proposed a final tax-exempt one-tier dividend of 5.0 cents per share.
