Deliveroo to offer reimbursements to e-scooter riders for new vehicles
Riders will get up to $600 for a new bicycle and up to $1,000 for a PAB or PMD.
Riders with active Deliveroo e-scooter accounts will receive 100% reimbursements from the platform for purchasing new vehicles, according to a press release.
Eligible riders can receive up to $600 for a new bicycle and up to $1000 for a new power-assisted bicycle (PAB) or personal mobility aid (PMD).
If a rider has completed 20 or more deliveries from 9 October to 7 November, Deliveroo will send 100% of the reimbursement once it has confirmed the purchase of a new vehicle and the disposal of the e-scooter. If less than 20 were completed, the rider will receive 80%, then the remaining 20% will be sent after the completion of 20 deliveries within a month of switching vehicles.
Deliveroo, which has 5% of their 6,000-strong fleet comprised of PABs and PMDs, stated that they are complying with the LTA and have reached out to their riders about the new regulation. They have stopped accepting PMD riders since May.
