East Coast Integrated Depot is 75% complete: LTA
The depot will likely be completed in 2025.
East Coast Integrated Depot, the world’s first four-in-one depot, is already 75% complete, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said.
In an update, the LTA said rail tracks are already being fitted in the depot, whilst the installation of electrical and maintenance, and system services are underway.
“Concreting and architectural works are ongoing,” added the LTA.
ECID is slated for completion in 2025 and will integrate three train depots and one bus depot into a single site.
According to the LTA, the train depot complex will house three MRT Lines: the Downtown Line Depot, the Thomson-East Coast Line Depot, and the East-West Line Depot.
“The three train depots have been designed to operate independently of one another, with a total stabling capacity of around 220 trains,” the LTA said.
Next to the train depot complex will be the bus depot. As per the LTA, the bus despot’\s ground level will house the maintenance depot while the upper levels will provide parking for about 760 buses.
“Green features will be incorporated, such as the solar panels installed on the roof of the rail and bus depots, usage of LED lighting and a façade design which optimises natural ventilation and natural lighting,” the LTA added.
