Go-Ahead Singapore’s new bus services to hit the road on September 4
First 13 routes will be rolled out.
New bus services provider Go-Ahead Singapore will launch the first tranche of its operations at major roads in the city-state exactly one month from now.
A joint release from Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Go Ahead Singapore showed bus services with 13 routes will start plying Singapore streets on September 4, while 11 other routes will be opened on September 18. Completing the 25 routes in the Loyang bus package is another service that will be announced in 2017.
The services will operate at Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Punggol, Sengkang, Tampines and Yishun Bus Interchanges, as well as Changi Airport, Changi Village, Changi Business Park, New Bridge Road and Upper East Coast Bus Terminals.
The package model is a relatively new experience for Singaporeans and is aimed at sustaining commuter convenience all through the transition phase.
“As we roll out the second package under the bus contracting model, we would like to assure commuters that LTA and the operators have been working hard to make this transition as seamless as possible and to bring about a better commuter experience with more regular bus timings and smoother bus rides,” said LTA chief executive Chew Men Leong.
Go-Ahead Singapore, meanwhile, called for passengers to take note of the new routes, timetables and other information on the bus services.
“It is very important that we get off to a smooth start and I therefore ask passengers to look out for associated publicity materials onboard the buses and at the key transport nodes, in advance of our September start date,” explained Nigel Wood, Go-Ahead Singapore managing director.
