Grab rolls out mapping service for enterprises
GrabMaps has a 4x lower error rate than a leading third-party mapping provider.
Grab's in-house mapping services, GrabMaps, will now be available to enterprises as a service.
With the rollout of GrabMaps, Grab will be able to tap into the US$1b market opportunity in Southeast Asia per year for mapping and location-based services.

GrabMaps has more than 33 million points of interest (POI) and point addresses in Southeast Asia. It also has high-resolution street-level imagery that provides wide to 360-degree views from positions along roads.
Based on Grab's study, GrabMaps also had a 4x lower error rate and 10x lower latency when compared to a leading third-party mapping provider.
Before its rollout to enterprises, GrabMaps was used to address Grab's need for a "more hyperlocal solution to power its services."

Currently, GrabMaps provides location-based intelligence and services to all Grab verticals in seven out of the eight countries it operates.
By the third quarter of 2022, Grab expects to be fully sufficient with GrabMaps.
