It needs to be cheap to be feaible.
A round-trip from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on the planned high-speed rail (HSR) link will cost passengers less than $150 (RM400), Malaysia's Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) said.
A report by Malay Mail Online cited SPAD CEO Mohd Nur Ismal as saying that the HSR project needs a "much lower average price" in order to be feasible.
"Although the return on investment will take a longer time, the operator will have several options to recoup its investment in the project," he said.
