Joint funding to support startup innovation for MRT optimisation launched
The funding is around $500,000.
Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and Stellar Lifestyle, business arm of SMRT Corporation, launched a joint funding partnership worth $500,000 to back startup innovation within the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network.
In a statement, the partnership focuses on practical solutions that can be deployed at stations such as improving profitability, optimising customer data analytics, helping MRT tenants cut operational costs, and enforce sustainable practices.
The partnership is part of Stellar Lifestyle’s plan to create an ecosystem of support between start-ups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Tony Heng, president of Stellar Lifestyle, said they will launch a living lab at the Esplanade MRT Station to validate solutions on startups.
“Co-locating the start-ups within our MRT network will help them better understand the unique transit environment, as they help our tenants who are mostly SMEs, become more resilient in today’s highly disrupted industries,” said Heng.
