LTA awards $480m contract for design and construction of Maju station, tunnels under CRL2
KTC Civil Engineering & Construction bagged the civil contract.
KTC Civil Engineering & Construction clinched the $480m civil contract for the design and construction of the Maju station and the tunnels under the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (CRL2).
The company previously constructed the Tampines interchange station on the Downtown Line and Orchard Boulevard station on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL).
Construction works for the CRL Maju station will likely start in the second quarter of 2024. The CRL Maju station is an underground station located along Clementi Road.
LTA expects works for the underground CRL Maju station to be challenging given the “undulating terrain and mixed ground conditions at its location” along Clementi Road.
LTA said it had already carried out a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on the works, which will take place near the Clementi Forest.
“Part of the EIA process included engagements with nature groups to review key biodiversity issues related to the Clementi Forest and the proposed measures to manage the environmental impact of the works,” LTA said.
