LTA extends card-based ticketing system as SimplyGo undergoes enhancement
SimplyGo users can exchange their cards for CBT cards for free.
Commuters can still use EZ-Link and NETS FlashPay cards on public transport following the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) extension of the existing adult card-based ticketing (CBT) system.
LTA will operate the CBT system in parallel with the SimplyGo system.
Commuters who have the SimplyGo EZ-Link cards or had their EZ-Link cards converted to SimplyGo between 9 January and 22 January can exchange their cards for a CBT EZ-Link card for free.
Concession card holders, including seniors, students, Workfare Transport Concession cardholders, and persons with disabilities, can also exchange their SimplyGo Concession card for a CBT Concession card for free.
Recently, LTA announced phasing out CBT cards to replace them with the NETS FlashPay card, which they cancelled amidst public complaints.
