LTA increases ERP rates by $1.00 in 5 locations
The increase will take effect on 19 September.
Starting 19 September, the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates in five expressway locations will be increased by $1.00.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said it increased ERP rates to manage congestion at various stretches of expressways.
The increase, however, will only be implemented during specific hours.
On Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) before Alexandra towards the city, for example, ERP rates will be $1.00 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. only.
During the same period, ERP rates four gantries at Southbound Central Expressway (CTE) Braddell Road & PIE Slip Road into Southbound CTE and two gantries at Pan Island Expressway (Kallang Bahru and Slip road into Bendemeer) will increase to $4.00 and $1.00, respectively.
Meanwhile, ERP rates at three gantries at AYE after Jurong Town Hall towards City will increase from $2.00 to $3.00 from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and motorists will need to pay $1.00 when passing two gantries at Northbound CTE after PIE between 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Rates for the other previously announced timeslots/gantries remain unchanged. With these adjustments, the number of locations and timeslots charged is still significantly lower than the number charged pre-COVID," the LTA said.
